1. Carryout
witness inspection and surveillance checks in accordance
with the Site Quality Plan and contractor/subcontractor
inspection and test plans.
2. Consider the
financial implications of all work undertaken and recommend
action which will reduce the cost of any work provided that
such action is consistent with the project schedule,
accepted engineering practice and will maintain the standard
of work required.
3. Be
responsible for the discipline and timekeeping of staff and
labour in his/her work area; when disciplinary action is
necessary, ensure that it is taken in accordance with
Company and site procedures.
4. Encourage
safety innovations among the contractors and participate in
site safety presentations and awards.
5. Immediately
stop any unsafe work practices which are likely to cause
accidents or are injurious to health.
6. Provide
technical assistance to ensure that all construction
material, equipment and vendor packages are properly
inspected on receipt, correctly maintained during storage
and installed in accordance with required specifications.
7. Ensure that
all materials and equipment are stored safely and are
preserved and maintained in accordance with , Client and
vendor requirements. Liaise with the Field Superintendent to
determine the best storage position for difficult or bulky
items. Liaise with the Chief Field Engineer with regard to
preservation and maintenance technical queries.
8. Ensure that
Industry and 'Best Practices' for the Quality Control of
construction and commissioning activities to ensure is
meeting Clients’ expectations and remains competitive in the
industry.
9. In
conjunction with contractors and Turnover Group, agree and
provide on a timely basis, all necessary handover
documentation in accordance with the scheduled
pre-commissioning and commissioning start-up requirements. |
