Electrical
Designer, responsible for the production and checking of all
design documentation as required upon instruction from
electrical engineers. Addresses interface issues with other
disciplines and with vendor packages. Capable of
interpreting engineering instructions into design drawings
without detailed engineering input. Supervises engineering
work of designers.
Preparation
of design documentation based on written instructions
including outline sketches where necessary from supervising
engineer. This may be the project lead engineer or a
subsidiary engineer.
To liaise
with other discipline designers to ensure all interfaces are
adequately addressed. Production and checking of drawings,
schedules and MTOs using autocad software and windows driven
spreadsheets such as Excel .
Production
and checking non critical design calculations including
lighting and LV cable sizing and cable tray / ladder sizing
and design.
Production
of layout backgrounds from PDMS models generated and
maintained by other disciplines.
Checking of
electrical and control systems and vendor package equipment
with interface wiring requirements.
Supervising
responsibility for Junior Designers within the electrical
section.
Direction
and Guidance to work scope/actions by Electrical Engineers.
Liaison
with: - Lead or other Electrical Engineer & Project
Engineer. Other discipline designers, Vendors and
sub-contractors as required.
